What I've been up to

Been a long time TY!!! I'm a dad now and I've been lucky enough to get work shooting menu photos, making Cannacaramels and doing some pretty tight marketing for several delivery services. HAd some of my work on huge billboards before the law changed on advertising. Made laser cut business card holders, custom packaging, and more. Here's some of my photos.

These are prototypes designed by me and made on a laser cutter. The production pieces were used as business card holders at pot doctors offices, the boxes were customer appreciation swag

I also made BHO pills. I managed ot get them Decarbed to 94%-97% reliably every time we tested @ SC Labs

I made and sold a bunch of very artsy box lamps with snowflake cutouts, these were left over and proved to be really fun to photograph and absolutely fascinated the 2nd graders in my kids class. These are actual size snow flakes too, just much thicker. Non-aggregate (single snow crystal) snowflakes can measure 3 or 4 inches from tip to tip. On average, snowflakes range in size from the width of a human hair to less than that of a penny so these are only about 1/4to 1/3 of the max size for a single non-aggrgate flake.



When I had laser cutter access i went absolutely berserk. Taught myself to use the laser cutter and and seriously advanced my basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator in about 2 weeks. I went on to do all sorts of laser engraved granite memorials, laser engraved and painted ammo cans, halloween decorations, art for my kids room and LOTS of customized product packaging for high $$$ delivery service customers.

Sadly I lost access to my maker space so no laser cutter in the budget till my kid gets his Disneyland trip!

I like using the black reflective surface a LOT ith the black BG. Just takes a LOT of 'flagging" to keep all 4 lights fro spilling onto the BG and causing editing issues.

I stumbled onto a way to get a nice black background one day about 10 years ago.

I found that if I took pics in a darkened windowless room, that only the colas would show up and the walls would simply be a black void.

Unfortunately, I only got that trick to work with one specific camera and got terrible results from my phone.

This is a piece of black acrylic with a black fabric backdrop. I flagged my lights and used the barn doors on my spotlight ot keeo the background dark and still light the bud nicely.
