Default Trouble with "Quick Reply" this afternoon

I've been having trouble with "Quick Reply" posts this afternoon.

Earlier the server seemed to go down just as I posted a message. Thinking it was just a server glitch, I wandered off on the interweebs for a while and came back later to try posting it again.

This time after many seconds, I got redirected to a page that said I was posting a duplicate of a message I'd posted in the past five minutes. I'd only clicked submit once, but for some reason the server seemed to think I'd done so twice.

The message *did* get posted, but something isn't quite right...

That would of been related to my working on adding some php features to install a webmail interface for TY email.

    Sorry about that.

The bandwidth changes haven't taken effect yet. It slows down a bit when you get a couple people uploading pics at a time. The changes should of been carried out on the ISP's end, more than likely I will need to go reset the modem.

No worries, LT, you do what you gotta do. I just thought maybe something you'd upgraded was causing problems and that it's best to let you know as soon as possible to narrow down the list of what you'd worked on that might be affecting it.

It seems to be working ok now, though.

I have everything done now so all should be smooth sailing. At least till tomorrow morning, may have to reboot the modem. But I also will be adding a new switch since currently everything is run through a regular wireless router. I had to dig my gigabit switch out of storage, lol.

    Default Other bug

    Hi LT

An other bug that I noticed is if I don't wait long enough to post a sub-topic related to a thread (or even a reply), it will be added with the thread and mention - - - Updated - - - instead of being separated as a different post.

    The following links are examples:

    https://www.treatingyourself.org/vbu...l=1#post354495

    https://www.treatingyourself.org/vbu...l=1#post354350

By the way LT, THANKS for posting a link to the MedPot.net Forums on TY's main page.

    Peace,

    Marc

I will take a look into as soon as I get TY's email system sorted out.

Not a problem, greenpassion.org will be linking us as well as soon as Toke gets his sidebar issues sorted out.

    Thanks LT

My God, it just took me about 10 minutes until I was able to connect on TY.

The connection was timing out during that time.

    I took a look at Greenpassion.org

They have an IPB board like the MedPot.net Forums, but it seems that they didn't get rid of the 'automated crap (bots)' like both you and I did.

So, it might be risky to have a TY Forums link on their board...if you know what I mean.

It could impede on your server's bandwidth dramatically if all this automation tries to connect directly on the TY Forums...even if they are banned.

But, that's up to you to decide my friend.

    Peace,

    Marc

I had to power cycle the modem to get the new speeds. Which I just completed. There should be a bit of a difference in the speed of the forum now.

As far as the bots, it shouldn't be much of an issue as our server will refuse their connection if they attempt to stop by.

I just got an error dialogue trying to give someone a "Thumbs Up" as well.

Good to hear you're working on it. Who'd have thought enabling a PayPal donation link would cause so many problems? :P

It wasn't the pay pal donation setup. It was the credit system that I was working on for the raffle system that seems to have broke something.
