Default Well got to start somewhere

Finally got some beans (Thanks! skunk)

I ordered 3 Autos Sweet Seeds Dark Devil & Green Poison and Kannabia's Speedy Gonzales.

I figured I would start out small. With that in mind I floated a whopping 3 beans [2 Green Poison and 1 Dark Devil]. I also seemed to have lost a second Green Poison seed By that evening all three had cracked. On the next day 9/10 they had sprouted and I got busy potting. I Made a mix of Fox Farm: Happy Frog Soil, sphagnum peat, perlite, and a small bit of bat guano. 9/11 I tossed this pitiful cab together before I went out of town for the weekend .

Speaking of perlite can I use it as mulch or will it keep too much moisture at the top? I'll abandon them again this weekend. The next weekend I disappear for a week. Hope these are hardy.

Default Week 3 (or is it 2 after the seeds were planted & popped)

Well its been another week plants got watered (No nutes) twice last week. I switched from 24 to 20/4 last Wednesday. The plants seem ok, one is showing some stress. I made some worm castings tea bags that I picked up off ebay, and watered with it on Monday.

Hey one of the best looking plants that I have ever seen was grown in a hot water tank box with a 70 watt hps. White rhino if I remember correctly It was a sexy plant man. Now its time to start looking for tent or small (decent sized) cabinet. I was going to turn my large armoire/wardrobe cabinet into a grow cab before the wife stopped me and gave me some closet space build in. I got some green poison in the mail from tommy over at Sweet seeds, He is a great guy just dropped me a p.m. and offerd me three packs of strains of my choice for free. Got Green Poison Fast Version, Black Jack Auto, and Cream Mandarin auto. Cant wait to try the mandarin, But heard great things about the Green Poison and would like to cross it mabey with C-99 or Deep Chunk. Dont know yet. Keepin an eye on this grow, Rock it man. K.I.M.

Another week has gone by, even shorter update this time. Fed the plants the worn castings tea with smidge of Alaskan fish slop. Plants are growing so at least it's forward progress. No pictures since I'm in Puerto Rico this week I went ahead and transplanted to 1 gallon pots. K.I.M. I've already made a 2.5x3x4ft grow cabinet and moved the plants in there. It's a bit if a hodge podge of wiring, but I'll get it sorted out when I come back. I went ahead and picked up a pair of 75 watt UFO LEDs off eBay. Figured for under a hundred bucks for the pair it was worth it. Right now they are under a pair of 85 CFLs and two HO 3ft florescent tubes. Think they are all in the 6500k range, but I'll check when I get back to be certain.

2 ufo's for under a hunderd bucks? Are they bright? Right light colors for veg and or Flower?. I would love to get some LED's for my cab, Was wanting tofor a bit now. Is there any literature/journals showing them being able to flower plants? Gonna take a look at Ebay I might just get them at to suppliment my CFL's. Glad your up and running with a grow cab somtimes. I started a Cream Mandarine and a BlackJack auto with the Auto Anubis and Sour 60. Im going to keep them in small 1/2 gallon containers for the duration of their lifes. Want them to start flowering a couple days earlier if possible, cause Im going to grow them along side my vegging C-99's. Should make for some 1 ft or shorter plants, will look really cool I think. Keep em growing Sometimes.

Made it back from PR. Checked on the plants. They are probably stunted because of the week of inattention. I'm not sure since i've never grown Dark Devil & Green Poison fem autos before, or anything else for that matter, to have some idea of what size they should be at this point. Anywho, the 2 green poisons look happy and the dark devil has stretched a bit.

Yes they are fem autos. They should be bigger, but this is my first grow so I've made some mistakes. The biggest is not taking them out from under the single 2ft HO florescent sooner and putting them under the grow lights. I just didn't have the cab done, so that's my fault.

Well I went ahead and transplanted, probably too late in the grow and definitely too big of pots I figured that since I've made enough mistakes that another wouldn't make a difference.

I went ahead and bought a 400 watt light decent price if it lasts more than 1 grow. Now to start the next round of seeds and figure out some of my mistakes.

By the looks maybe a bit high in N from the beginning to stunt them? Or could of just needed more light, put em in the glow of that 400 with an hps bulb.

Incidentally, I have the 1000 watt version, they are cheap ballasts so praise jeebus if it lasts more than a few grows, be lucky for 1 or 2 from the bulbs. Yours come with a 3 year warranty?

I was definitely low on light when I started them, and more than likely to heavy handed with the fertilizer/nutrients. Need to find some inexpensive square pots in 6L and 9-11L range. All I can find here are hydro pots

Ok just scrolled up and seen that they are autos. I did not go all the way to the start, and wanted to know what was the size of your starting pot. Many, many growers and breeders say that you should start the auto's in 7-11 Liter pots. Finishing them in those also. Somthing with the tap root needing to grow as deep as it can to be as tall and productive as possible. Starting in small containers the root hits bottom quick and flowers soon after. I usually use 5 liter pots and they get at least 1 ft before starting to flower. This run I used a small pot on an anubis auto and within 20 days it flowered but only stayed 6 inches tall. So that kinda reafirms it I think. K.I.M.
The first Auto I grew from Sweet seeds I only visited it every 4 days to water and feed it. It did turn out amazing and was a favorite smoke with my friends for a bit while I had some. So you dont have to give these genetics that much love for them to treat you good. Just thought I may add that. K.I.M.

Hey brother. I see u started them in Aurora fabric pots. Horrible pot to transplant from in my experience. I raped my plants roots for two grows using those sons of bitches. Definitly find something different. Btw walmart sells some self-watering pots that are fantastic. Enjoy your harvest mate.

Yeah I've read that too (after I started). I started them out in ~3 cup seedling pots. Then moved to gallon pots. Defiantly want to find some square pots that are deep. After looking at the sweet seeds grow reports the pots they use seem to work well.

No joke about the Aurora pot definitely craptastic when I transplanted. Fortunately it was only one plant.

Week I think I'm lost this is day 51 so I should be nearing the end, but these look nowhere near finished. They are getting fatter though so I can't complain.

    Here's the dark devil

    And the green poison

And finally the speedy Gonzales that I floated with the Cindy grow off

(Edit getting picture invalid, I'll try to add them back in later)
