I don't know which way I'll vote - but I'll be looking to Mulcair to echo Trudeau's sentiment - it would put Harper on the outside - here's the conservative response:

I heard the NDP response today here:

    http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/britis...alization.html

The video with MacKay's reply seems circular.

The NDP is saying it requires more study. Like, come on...cannabis has been studied to death. So I don't know, Dr. Valentine, which way I'll vote for sure, but Trudeau has a better chance of getting my vote today, after hearing the limp NDP response, than yesterday.

Is it just me or does Peter MacKay look sort of like a pig? I don't mean to be cruel, but he just does look like a pig - a pig wearing a really sharp tie. But it's not because he's overweight, or snuffling...it's his eyes. Don't people who drink have a porcine look to them too when they've had too many? Maybe today was a bad day for him. I dunno. They're thin, kinda squinty piggy eyes - shifty, as if he doesn't know what he's talking about - I wonder if that's true - I wonder if he's drunk like Rob Ford and he's pissed off because his wife would only permit him sex while he's wearing sunglasses and this cannabis issue caught him by surprise?

Who knows, eh? Like I say, not sure how I'll vote. But MacKay really does know how to pick a tie, and an attractive wife - she was a model eh? People say models are quite bright - she knows he's a deep thinker, thoughtful, considerate of the point of view of others, and maybe that's how she gets over the eyes thing.

    Or maybe sunglasses...dunno.

    Does that piggy wear sunglasses?

MacKay implied in the vid that med users are criminals - he made the link between all cannabis use and violent, criminal behaviour.

MacKay hung out with Russell Williams, who had piggy deception eyes too. He liked to wear sunglasses - the aviator kind. I wonder if Russell and Peter's wife....nah.

I'm not suggesting these men mutually satisfied each other in, you know, a sexual way, because being gay is cool, as is cross dressing - what I mean to say is, well, nobody really cares who did who behind the barn, know what I mean, but, just look at Peter's face here, and you'll know what I mean:

See how he's squinting? Doesn't that sort of look like he's squealing with pleasure? Still, he could be alone while he's pleasuring himself here, I don't know...some guys take pics of themselves in suits with no pants while they're self pleasuring (and there's nothing wrong with that either) - who knows eh? And he's not wearing glasses in that shot so it all makes sense - that's why his wife isn't there, perhaps.

Let's just agree that MacKay and murderer Russell Williams were 'good friends' who carried on together in some kind of intercourse, that resulted in fruitful exchange, that made Peter make that face, kinda the same as Shad's wee piggy TY icon face, because he was drunk and mad at his wife who made him wear sunglasses before agreeing to 'some kind of pleasuring'.

Surely my suggestions are as valid as MacKay's suggestions that cannabis users are violent. And medical users criminals. And cannabis use a 'societal ill'

The ruling Liberal party under the Chretien government wanted to legalize it. Chretien himself said he was going to do it but the Americans but the clamp down on that.

I doubt Justin can stand up to the Americans either. Everyone hates a bully. Especially when it's a foreign government interfering with another country's (Canada's) government and public policy.

Justin Trudeau has flip flopped on pot for many many years now. He is as big a fake and phony as all the rest. And someone said he is good looking here? LOL I thought we got rid of the politics forum from all the other dumb comments like that one. LOL

JT has smoked pot prolly still does. Until he or any other politician has the real balls to stand up and say they do smoke it I won't buy their bullshit. I guess some stoners have short memories, I sure don't.

The "Young Liberals" began the cannabis legalization movement a couple years back and JT said at that time he didn't think pot should ever be legalized. I can't find the quote for that timeline easily but I know I read it and have it somewhere. FLIP FLOP ASSHOLE

Justin Trudeau says he changed his mind. Why not? He says his thinking 'evolved'.

    http://www.ottawacitizen.com/health/...050/story.html

Fair enough - it's tough to criticize a politician for wanting to get elected, or adopting a position that is popular in order to get votes - presumably we want politicians to listen to our concerns - I'm glad when they do.

The Green party seems decent, but Green is a lost vote.

Good timing then for Justin. The South and Central American countries want to change the UN's position on the drug war as well.

The real blockade is the current Harpercrite government and US policy.

But to be honest, I think the US is having their hands full dealing with medical and recreational cannabis legalization by their component states already.

I think, with the new demise of Detroit (and other cities too, and soon maybe Philly, Baltimore, Santa Monica(?)) they're going to have to make decisions about what they prefer: Moral superiority, or a financially solvent state and municipal infrastructure. I don't think the Feds are in any position with the economy the way it is, to dictate morals that take away cash from starving state budgets. But you're right, the US Feds are hard asses and it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Good point. As long as we have political leaders suggesting that legalization is a good idea, and using it a valid and worthwhile reason to the elected, the public's mind may start thinking in this same direction.

Justin MiniPET Trudeau appears to have lost momentum on this issue since last summer. Widespread media will report controversial events, as for expressing admiration of Chineese dictatorship, or after a bashing letter was sent by Harper to Brandon-Souris voters, etc., but i yet have to see serious coverage of his views about cannabis.

Perhaps Justin is still buzy browsing through the 600+ pages 2 years report titled "The Special Senate Committee on Illegal Drugs" of 2002, go figure! In the meantime 40 thousand licensed cannabians received an envelope from Health Canada with "MARIHUANA" clearly visible on it, then the RCMP police made a striking example among themselves:

While anti-cannabic warriors have "messages" to convey there was some modest coverage of e-Cigs aired on national french-speaking TV last week:

Too bad there was no mention of cannabic applications under this recent context, not to mention vaporizers alone!

In any case there's been no significant MiniPET echoes on the radar so far, so how serious is the son of his father, actually?...

Stop...we've heard all this rhetoric before. Attitudes change as a matter of convenience. Jack Layton made positive reference to changing cannabis laws and conveniently flip flopped. Ideals fall by the wayside in the race for power.

As I pointed out in another thread, there's video of Rob Ford smoking crack and he's still the Mayor of Toronto because there's no way to actually prove that the substance in the glass pipe is really crack and not, for example, the substance used on Comedy Central's Daily show and Colbert Report crack smoking segments.. even though Ford did admit to smoking crack.

Can anyone tell me that the pic shows the RCMP Officer actually smoking cannabis and not simply lighting an empty paper tube based on the picture?

    Yes... I know.

It does feel strange defending defending an RCMP, but he's also one of us and we all deserve to be defended.
