    Electricity CAN K I L L

Please consult with a licensed Electrical contractor. And in that case just find a completed unit online for around 20 bux!

I modified my procedure slightly then described as I wrapped the live contact points on the duplex plug with Electrical tape. The close proximity to the heat sink for the speed controller necessitated a degree more of safety.

was a trained tool machinist, then the auto market tanked, retrained and got a good ways to my degree, always liked alternative energy. Would love to be able to go "Off the Grid" until LED tech evolves a great deal more any HID user will be tied to the grid.

Ironic I was just looking at a 60 foot wind turbine pole that got a small ding during install and the school district is selling it C H E A P.
would be real cool to test a few nacelle and turbine designs.

I got into some in depth discussions with my one instructors on designs and durability, a real simple design is using a car alternator. I forget what he said it could produce in our wind zones. One less inverter needed as it will charge batter bank and only need one to convert to AC. Hmm gonna have to give him a holler and see what I'd need for a foundation for that pole.
Contractor mis-ordered the service drop size so I have 110' of 60 amp service leads from the garage getting wired. choice!

I live in an area with lots of red tape obstructing wind turbines, so far exactly one person has jumped the legal hurdle of "You'll destroy my view!" and managed to get one that I found by accidernt while turning around at the end of a dirt road off another little used dirt road.

Think of your view when the power station goes offline due to lack of fuel.

I had a purchased controller start acting up a few years ago. It only worked when perfectly straight, any tug to either side knocked it out.

Then it died completely, I bypassed it all summer and only tried it again on the offchance that it worked the following winter.

Success again, I used it until it again failed.

I removed the defective device and ...err..hey, what's this?

Did you know a loose fuse cap makes your blower act strange for a few years?

When I bought my last jeep I installed a ford altinator that put out 110 volts and would power tools and lights and could be used as an arc welder. Worked great. Jerry

There has been much debate on the subject.
We have many many many "birders" who spend oodles of cash in the area ( insert millions of dollars here).
There seems just as much "proof" on each side refuting the other sides facts.
A good friend of mine is in the business of erecting turbines, so he has a slight bias.
I am a conservationist at heart and have read alot on the subject.
I am keeping my ears open for new data, in my case our home is 30 odd feet from a High Voltage Transmission Lines and they are UGLY, worse yet they lead from a Nuclear plant.

If we switched from Uranium to Thorium we'd have several tens of thousands of years of power that turns out to be cleaner with less harmful daughter radioisotopes including zero plutonium (no weapons grade nukes as a side effect).
