    Default Recycle timer

I hope to educate myself enough to make this small DIY a cheap addition.

Is your plan to build a timer than cycles on and off at a regular rate rather than by hours, or to recycle a dead timer into something useful?

they are calling the timers used to repeat a period or cycle recycle timers imagine that. Here is the C.A.P. marketed units.

I have been doing a lil bit of reading, nothing terrible complicated evan for the novice with no soldering skills.

I have found two main designs,
1st reuse a 48 position on off timer. simple timer available at Blowes or casa de pot

2nd a breadboard with a 555 ic timer and few other things readily available.
don't think rat shack is worth the effort, my local one is just a front for selling cell phones. Which is a real bummer.

I was getting discouraged as noone seemed to have any intrest.
I for one can really afford to drop down cash everytime I need or think I need something.

I don't want to copy and paste someone else work so it may take me a bit to put some pics and a DIY post together. Gotta get me a tri-wing screw driver to get into most of these anyways.

    Now for those with a lil more advanced abilities;
    http://www.backyardaquaponics.com/fo...=6077&start=30

I realize most wont understand. That is the way I was the first 2 months in my power electronic class. I pulled my prof to the side and said hey. . .
The guy went out of his way to fill in some of the holes in my cheese holed memory of my intro electricity classes. I am still not 100% on some of the concepts but this circuit should be a breeze.

Wished I would have been smart enough to make this during lab times, had all the parts and supplies right there. Who knows I may go audit the class again and build a few up during their labs.

I made a couple of the modified appliance timers.
worked well, however eliminating one of the gears taxed them quick, never tore it back apart to see what failed.

The timer modification was too much on the timer motors, didn't last very long at all.
I am going to build a few timer boards with the 555 IC Timer chip.
wanting to make them for my circulation fans so they will cycle on and off several times a hour 24 hours a day.
