Default Rainbow Chunky and Nevil's Super Kush

Okay folks, as promised here is the genesis of a new grow journal.

    Rainbow Chunky
This is a strain from Australian breeder, Garry Von Billen. Heritage is Rainbow Dreaming X Rockbud. The pics in this first set of images are taken at 3 weeks into flowering.
Plants are in 8" pots with an organic medium. Lighting is from a 1000W Metal Halide (cool spectrum for veg and warm spectrum for flowering). Ferts are fish emulsion in veg and Canna Flores for flowering cycle. I use seaweed emulsion right through the grow, foliar application once weekly.
Rainbow Chunky is certainly a very compact plant, and despite the size, exhibits strong sativa influence which can be seen by the very long, serrated sativa fan leaves.
This strain is very very slow to get going in veg. I have a Super Kush growing next to it, and the Rainbow Chunky is half the size of the Kush!

Now we see the plants just at the beginning of the 5th week of flowering. The Rainbow Chunky has only just completed the flowering stretch and is now 2 feet tall. It has very very close internodes and the first visible signs of flowering are showing with lots of fine pistils.
Next to the Rainbow Chunky is a new strain from Nevil, Super Kush, and it is double the size of the Rainbow Chunky despite being the same age.

And here are some random shots of the flowering room. What I have going is:
    Rainbow Chunky
Super Kush (a terrific new strain from Nevil)
    Z99
    Cindy's Bubbles
    G13 X Haze

But I will be focusing on the Rainbow Chunky, but damn the Kush looks nice. The Z99 is from the Wizards of Oz and is already frosty with resins.

Nice looking plants you have there mate!

Moose, I have some of the beans you sent me in veg as we speak. RainbowXDreaming and RainbowX Carrot.

I had a lot of trouble getting them to sprout (paper towel method) but after letting them soak, for about a week, I had success.

So, I have four great looking plants growing under the Canadian sky! I don't know if the season will be long enough to grow Australian Sativa's but I'm going to give it my best shot!

Moose, thanks again for the beans. It's been a long time since I have been this excited about a grow!

I've never had the pleasure of trying 'native' Aussie gear, but two of my favorite plants came to me from an Australian who did a proper large outdoor grow to select his plants.

Okay, here are two of the strains to assist in identifying them as the grow progresses.

This first one is of course Rainbow Chunky

And this is a new Kush from Nevil, called appropriately Super Kush. ( Kanga's Kush female x Jim Ortega's Kush male.) - flowering time 9 - 10 weeks. This new Kush rocks! Strong, vigorous growth with the classic pure indica appearance.
Plants are 5 weeks into flowering in the pics below.

Out of respect for Marco, you will have to use Google to find an outlet. I don't want to be seen touting business when all I am doing is enjoying a grow journal here. I hope you will understand that. By the way, I did not buy the Super Kush I have going.

Well, here we are with a little update. 6 weeks into flowering and things are progressing nicely.
The Rainbow Chunky has stretched quite a bit, but it is still a good 6" shorter than the Super Kush (see pic below) - and they are the same age!
The foliage is quite delicate and beautiful on the Rainbow Chunky, and there are more and more pistils forming in the very sativa looking buds.
The Super Kush is doing brilliantly. It has finished the flowering stretch and is now 4 foot high. Lots and lots of resination already with pungent/spicy aromas.
The Cindy's Bubbles is also coming along nicely, but is harder to take good pics of as it is towards the rear. Same with the G13 Haze.
As for the Z99, I am blown away. This plant is already white with crystals.

Here are some pics, mostly of the Rainbow Chunky and Super Kush. I don't think I need to tell you which is which. One is sativa and the other full indica,
