    Default Mr. Nice Seedbank's - Critical Widow

    Shantibaba crossed Critical Mass with Black Widow to produce these seeds known as Critical Widow.
    Seeds germinated August 1. Grow medium is Pro-Mix Hp with 20% added perlite. Only Canna's Rhizotonic was applied early in veg, both in the root zone and by foliar feeding. Nutrients used in veg are DutchMaster Gold Grow and Grozyme.
    Veg lighting was T5 48 (4ft X 8 tubes) HO tubes @ 6400 K Lights on 24/7.

    August 2;

    August 5;

    August 10;

    August 13;

    August 18; Topped and removed some lower leaves.

    August 20; Removed more fan leaves to encourage branching.

    August 21;
    Plants transplanted into 3 gallon square pots. I had to place 2 under another T5 fixture, a 6 X 4Ft. tube model, just not enough room under 1 fixture for them all.
    I moved the tallest and the shortest, which left me with these 8;

    The same 8, transplanted;

    August 24;

    Sept. 10; Bloom day 15; 7 Females, 3 males, males culled.

    Sept. 18; Bloom day 23; Plants stopped stretching and started to fill in, building some nice little budsites.
    Fed them DutchMaster Gold A&B and Add .27, AN's Bud Candy and Hygrozyme. First 2 weeks 800 ppm, weeks 3 and 4 up to 1,000 ppm.

    Sept. 22; Bloom Day 27;

    Excellent work and photos JG.
    How do you keep them so short early in veg.? No matter what I do from seed they seem to stretch. Your's always look so good and bushy.
    Thanks,
    Neal.

    Thanks,

    Sept. 29; Thanks guys, and Neal I use the T5's to keep them short and bushy, that and topping them and removing some of the lower fan leaves when they're about 3 weeks old. A few days later I'll remove the remaining fan leaves that cover the future branches/budsites. I wait a few days to remove all the fan leaves or risk stressing the plants too much. The branches grow in fast, creating a nice lil bush to work with. I wanted to veg these longer but had to begin when I did.

    And this brings us to today, bloom day 33, Sept. 29.
    Plants are now under 2,600 W HPS, sharing the space with 4 others, 2 Bubba Kush, Jack the Ripper and WhiteD (The White X Tres Dawg).
    Very frosty for just 33 days!

    Do you lollipop your plants at all? I know these don't look like you have but i can't remember what your thoughts were on this practice?

    Thanks guys, Guy in Pain I usually lollipop them mildly, but kinda glad I didn't this time, some nice lil nuggets on the bottom now.

    Sorry no updates in a couple weeks, but everythings fine.

    Thanks Neal, I'm not sure what size pots you're using, but you may want to try what I've found and that's 11 litre pots (the critical widows are in here) or smaller 6.5 litre pots (the Bubbas are in here) work real well for higher quality herb/medicine. Larger pots take too long to dry between waterings unless I use rockwool.

    Thanks Doobius, I use a Nikon D-40X camera, 3-4 years old now, took those pics with the standard 18-55mm lense. Room temps never lower than 62F @ night, daytime temps are 75-76F, the little window ac won't get the room any colder.

    Thanks Shadimar and Guy in Pain, taping on the window is a temporary façade.
    Had inspections just before blooming these and again last weekend, the taping conceals black/white poly for the inspections. Must have about 10 coats of paint now, I clear the room and paint just before they show up
    I'll peel off the taping and paper soon as the next bloom begins, cheers.
